re: [RP] Lasting Impressions

Angellis had a simple goal. Find Solivar, deliver the ring. He accomplished neither. Instead he discovered members of Steadfast gathered inside the East Sanctum that was nestled dangerously within the Dead Scar. There he had found Folami, a warlock known not by him until this first meeting; Twinyarrow, another warlock who he had seen about but also made no contact with which is Angellis's customs when dealing with their kind; Jarrand, a Shaman of unknown powers; and Keldris, a Bloodknight who Angellis's initial impression was strikingly gorgeous though something seemed off and such things always bothered Angellis. Including himself, the room was attended by only Sin'Dorei other than the exception of the Shaman, an Orc who Angellis marked as somewhat dull looking.

Entering the round, chamber-like room, all eyes turned towards him, some agitated about the intrusion, others more-so surprised. Sniffing the air, Angellis complained that they chose poorly for the smell of the scourge still lingered. Angellis fidgeted with something tiny, a ring that if turned the right way in his hand, glimmered. How he carried this bauble, one would think there was coveting involved. Angellis was a fair bit nervous then he let on as all awaited his explanation. He was hesitant to finish this task set upon him by a Troll Death Knight who he had only recently met. When he first held this trinket he would have sworn his life that the flames emblazoned on it's face danced and flickered before his eyes. Such a tiny trinket had visibly entranced him and if he had not pulled himself away from admiring the ring, the undead Troll would have ripped it from the Hunter's hand and found another to do the job. She had told him this ring was important to Solivar and Angellis thought himself well known for his integrity so he would follow through no matter what.

Angellis pulled the ring from his pockets and did not present it to the others right away, but instead continued weaving it about his fingers. "So my sources were correct"...

Angellis would regret this soon. After much tense interaction with the others he uncovered more truths. Solivar was not with them and in fact was in some trouble. The gathering was to make contact with some 'Lord of the Crossroads' in order to find a way to help their debilitated friend. Also, Keldris presented a ring that was just like the one Angellis held. The Paladin made claims that the ring was given to him in the past by Solivar. He requested to see the ring to which Angellis refused, denying the Paladin who was not the destined recipient.

Seeing that Solivar was not with them he found his presence there unnecessary. In fact, he grew more uncomfortable by the situation the longer he stayed, so he was ready to bid all farewell. But Keldris had one more request, and incited Angellis's curiosity with a suggestion that this was no mere coincidence that he was there with the ring and because of this perhaps he should be there. Keldris sought the aid of the Hunter and tried to explain in a matter that showed that time was not something currently plentiful. Angellis resentfully accepted this new task. The Hunter again admitted to himself this Keldris was far too captivating and this could put the Hunter into unknown danger. Nothing was closer to the truth.

As soon as Angellis found a place amongst the circle, Keldris walked to it's center, uttering some simple incantation, a request for this 'Lord of the Crossroads' to accept his blood offering. Keldris willingly took a thin bladed knife and sliced his arm open allowing blood to flow freely to the stone floor. Angellis's expression instantaneously changed from indifference to stark displeasure. But even further distressing was the change in the atmosphere. Things around them began to fade and shift until nothing was recognizable. And then in the center, before them all, a hauntingly beautiful figure, tall and pale with radiant flowing hair and dark eyes whose stare was all encompassing. For those first moments Angellis was no longer sure of his existence as he became lost in this beautiful but grotesque display. The divine being, with blood crimson lips smiled at the Hunter "Ah. A new player". Angellis looked about the room for others who shared his concerns but no one seemed as alarmed as he was. The Lord went about the room addressing all, one by one. Mocking them in a sense as the being caressed their faces in a tender but very cruel fashion. The Hunter could no longer stand idly by. "Do not touch them!" he demanded but the others sternly shook their heads and for a very brief moment Angellis felt foolish.

Keldris stayed in the center, threads of blood making many thin rivers down his arm, flowing to the ever growing puddle. Angellis's dark realization was that he was witnessing the death of a brother Sin'Dorei and he was sickened by those around him that did nothing. He could not care what Keldris wanted to come from this. Angellis felt overwhelmed with hate for those who he thought of as brothers and sisters. How could they guide him into such dangerous territory, not warning him of the great risk. How could they all just stand there? Why did they have to bring him into this? Will he be able to return or will he be stuck in this realm leaving Darren alone to fend for himself. Damn them all. Damn them for tricking him.

The Lord, with all grace and composure, joined Keldris in the center, grasping his wounded wrist so tightly it made the Sin'Dorei double over. "Do not touch him!" Angellis reflexively shouted. The Lord, casually drank the blood from the gasping elf as others around pleaded that the Lord accepted the blood offering from another. They're all mad. Wanting to lunge at this wretchedly beautiful being and peel Keldris away, Angellis found he was immobilized and more panic stricken than he had ever been. The Shaman spoke, finally seeking audience with the Lord so as to uncover answers that led to something about some mirror. The Hunter tried to make sense of what was being asked at such a high cost if only to find justification to all of this but he was left unsatisfied. The answers from the Lord came as riddles. Finally hearing enough, and enraged beyond self control, his body trembling in both fear and anger, he demanded to go home. "s-S-Send me back!" How cruel, as those around him gave no notice. "Send me back! Now!"...

Angellis could not measure the time it took for him to finally find himself amongst familiar surroundings since he was out of his mind, still shaking with anxiety like a scared child. He hastily exited the room, but suddenly turned towards Keldris, quickly but silently joining him in the center and kneeling down to put the second ring in the cup of the Paladin's bloody hand. The Hunter turned his back towards the group and walked out the door, regaining more of his composure, he stopped and turned his head slightly to get a view of the group from the corner of his eye. With a raspy, broken voice he uttered his demand "Do not call on me again...never again."

He did not wait for a response, and he was far away from that place in no time, as he galloped through the golden forest of Eversong Woods, heading straight for the sanctuary of Silvermoon City. His mind churned with concerns for Steadfast's future if such desperate, atrocious acts were being done under his banner. He could cry.
