re: [RP] Lost In the Shadows Part Two

[The group reconvenes some days later in the Valley of Spirits...]

Roori: I've collected a few things.

Dayari: Very interesting.

Keldris climbs the stairs and gives the demon a wide berth.

Dayari looks at you.
Dayari: Hello, Solivar.

Keldris pauseses, startled.
Keldris: Er?
Keldris: I'm not...

Dayari: You forget your name?

Keldris: ...Have we met?

Folami speaks softly to Sijambi about a room for the night.

Dayari: I think so.
Dayari: II was watching you before.

Roori points at darren doing the he is crazy gestures

Keldris’ brow twitches upwards.

Dayari: Except, you had been stabbed.
Dayari: You don't look very stabbed now.

Keldris: Are you...sure about that?

Dayari: No.

Roori: Where is Mr Jarrand wasnt he supposed to be here tonight?

Keldris: I thought so as well. Has anyone seen him recently?

Dayari: I don't see him.

Folami eyes the hammocks warily.

Keldris: Or...the death knights who were here?

Roori: i have not seen him since the beach and when he took that mirror.

Skyspear: I am here. I have not seen Andinthe.

Keldris glances over his shoulder, visibly unsettled.

Skyspear moves a few steps to the side, so Keldris can see him... just about.

Keldris: ...I'm reasonably certain this isn't good.

Folami gestures, "Begone Grimkrast. It is too crowded here for you too."

Dayari: Not good? Why?

Skyspear: Since you all seem so concerned, I take it these mirrors do more than tell uncomfortable truths.

Keldris runs a hand through his already disorderly hair, rendering it even messier.
Keldris: It's hard to say.

Dayari: Mirror....there was something about a mirror.
Dayari: Not supposed to look in them, I think.

Roori: You need a brush mister?
Roori begins going through her bags.

Folami does her best not to look like she's eavesdropping, the talk of mirrors having caught her attention.

Keldris: No...that's not really necessary, little one.

Roori: Are you sure it could get in your eyes.

Keldris:: ...I'm fine, really. Anyway....

Roori: so have you heard back from the purple person that went with the troll yet?

Keldris: The mirrors...according to the information I received, there's some concern that the mirrors are more than just elven artifacts of who knows what potency.
Keldris And, no, I haven't heard back from either Meirin or Catlali.
Keldris: I didn't expect to, honestly, given how far they have to travel.

Roori: oh ok

Dayari: We need to look for someone?

Keldris: Maybe. But first...can anyone tell me about that...Andinthe...person?

Roori: She smelled and muffins didn’t like her.

Dayari: Supposed to cut through her neck if she makes problems.

Skyspear snorts in amusement at Roori's description. "I fear not. She is a death knight, but not of the Ebon Blade, so I know very little except her name."

Keldris smooths down his twitching left brow.
Keldris: So someone expected her to make problems, then?

Dayari: I think so.

Keldris: Is she trustworthy?

Dayari shrugs at you. Who knows?
Dayari: Maybe.

Folami resists the urge to make notes. Strange mirrors, possibly elven in origin; untrustyworthy people.

Keldris: Because I'll confess I'm a little alarmed that she and the shaman and the thing we dug out of the beach are all missing at the same time.

Dayari: More people to look for then.

Skyspear: As I say... I do not know her. But she is... I would not necessarily trust her to look to anyone's interests but her own.

Dayari: She's not quite Not-Scourge, so no. Not to be trusted.

Skyspear: ...and what are the criteria for... not-scourge?

Folami chews lightly on her lower lip, thinking.

Dayari: Forsaken...the Death Knights.
Dayari: Not-Scourge, because they were Scourge but aren't anymore.

Skyspear: I see, but why would you believe Andinthe is not?
Skyspear: I am not saying she is trustworthy, as I said, I do not know her.

Dayari: She's supposed to be Not-Scourge, but she looks different.

Skyspear frowns a little. Looked like a fellow death knight to him... "Different how?"

Dayari: Bad.

Folami spot on the ceiling to study.

Keldris: In what way...? Not that I'm arguing, mind you.

Dayari: Bad like Scourge.

Keldris: Has she...been with your fellowship long? Or at all, really?

Dayari: I've seen her before.

Skyspear: ...well. Standing around here will do us no good, if you believe something is wrong, we should perhaps try to find the shaman?
Skyspear: If he's simply caught up in something else, well and good. If not...

Dayari: Shaman's an Orc. Should be here, it's where they live.

Keldris: Theoretically.
Keldris runs a hand through his hair again.
Keldris: Split up?
Keldris’ tone is exceedingly wry.

Skyspear: Splitting up works out well. If you and I look for Andinthe, and the Forsaken gentleman and the young orc search for Farseer Jarrand...

Roori says: ill go with Keldris to find jarrand you can take smelly dude

Dayari says: Alright, I'll look for him.

Folami bites her lower lip again, glancing at the group.

Keldris opens his mouth, closes it, and plants a palm firmly over his face.
Keldris says: Roori -- why don't you poke around for the Windspeaker?

Roori says: Ok find me if you find him first.

Keldris inclines a brow at Skyspear.
Keldris says: Certainly. Shall we?

Skyspear nods again. "Lead the way."

Roori says: come on fifi. lets go

[Jarrand Windspeaker rides up to the door of the inn on his trusty worg.]

Roori says: well i did my job hi

Jarrand says: Greetings, brothers, and sister.

Skyspear says: ...and so part of our task is done already.

Jarrand says: I am sorry to be late to our meeting this eve. My sleep has been fitful, to say the least.

Skyspear looks amused.

Keldris says: Good timing, Windspeaker. Have you seen the death knight? The other one, that is.

Jarrand clearly states, NO.
Jarrand says: I have not had chance to see the Death Knight.

Skyspear says: At least it seems she has not abducted you and made off for parts unknown...

Jarrand says: But, I worry about this mirror.

Keldris says: Yeah, I have to admit that's a good thing. Let's...shall we go back inside? Somewhere slightly less public?

Jarrand says: I've not looked into its depths, but I feel it looking into me.

Roori says: no fun today fifi go home. ill call you later.

Skyspear grimaces. "There is altogether too much looking into people going on in this world."

Jarrand nods at Skyspear.

Keldris rests a hand on Jarrand's elbow.

Andinthe leaps from Bloodgrottle's saddle mid-air, slapping the boney @#$ of the skeletal gryphon which flys away. She lands gracefully on her feet before you.

Keldris glances over Jarrand's shoulder.

Jarrand says: And there she is.

Keldris says: Show off.

Folami 's eyebrows raise.

Jarrand says: Greetings, Death Knight.

Andinthe spits onto the ground, her eyes flaring up.
Andinthe says: If I wanted to truly show off your head would already be severed and mounted.

Roori says: yay now we can have a tea party.... im joking now whats the plan from here.

Keldris grins and bows mockingly from the neck.
Keldris says: Yeah, yeah, save it for later.
Keldris says: As I was saying...maybe upstairs, where it's a little less...public?

Andinthe says: Why not just kill the bystanders?

Jarrand nods at you.

Roori says: cause then ill be out a place to stay AGAIN.

Skyspear 's jaw tightens.

Folami glances at Andinthe.

Keldris says: What she said.

Andinthe lets out a deep sigh.

Baishan is a bit worried about being seen as a bystander.

Jarrand says: It is best not to cause a fight in somone else's house.

Folami blows out a breath.

[The group adjourns to one of the less-populated upstairs rooms of the inn.]

Jarrand says: While we do not always choose the path that is laid out for us, I have no great wish to carry this mirror for longer than is necessary.
Jarrand says: But, I think casting this off into the mud below would do little good.

Keldris says: I think that's a perfectly reasonable reaction, given the circumstances.

Roori says: can i break it?

Jarrand says: No youngling, I think it not wanting to be broken.

Skyspear says: ...that might not be very clever, little orc.

Keldris says: Not sure that's the best idea, little one.

Skyspear looks at Keldris and Jarrand in some amusement.

Folami almost calls out at the idea of someone breaking a magic mirror, but is content to eavesdrop for now since reason prevailed.

Keldris says: Do you...have it with you? The mirror that is?

Jarrand says: It has not left my side, since I have acquired it.

Skyspear grins at Roori. "Besides, the humans say breaking a mirror incurs seven years of bad luck."

Keldris nods.

Roori says: what if i served my seven years was served before i break the mirror

Jarrand says: I think it best not to tempt fate.

Skyspear says: I don't know if it works that way. I suppose you would have to find a human and ask him.
Skyspear 's eyes may just have shifted toward Keldris. It's hard to tell.

Jarrand says: But, there has been talk of a way of putting an end to the mirror's magic.

Keldris says: Now...my information's a little sketchy as to the whole mirror thing -- Catlali's, uhm, a little on the impenetrable troll shaman side when it comes to explaining things from time to time.

Roori says: i can go find my purple people friends they are in the barrens right now.

Jarrand says: I do not think it best for you to seek them out, youngling.

Keldris says: You're reading my mind, Windspeaker.

Jarrand says: Not as of yet, Paladin.
Jarrand lets out a hearty chuckle.

Roori says: but they are the ones that gave me hawkeye and there is a big cow guy with them so its gotta be safe right.

Keldris says: But, yeah, there's a superstition about breaking mirrors and luck. And I understand that this thing is...::he makes a complicated gesture::...weird even by ancient kaldorei standards.

Folami stifles a giggle.

Jarrand says: Roori, you are still young and have not seen what can come of even innocent gestures.

Keldris says: What does it do, exactly?

Jarrand says: The mirror?

Keldris says: Yes. I mean, magic mirrors usually do something. Let you see abnormally long distances or true visions or something along those lines....

Jarrand says: It offers a reflection, twisted darkly and one you would not want to see.
Jarrand says: It has shown futures, but it has also found a way to hurt the onlooker by changing the person to suit the reflection.

Keldris says: ...Ah. Yeah...Catlali mentioned that one. Baranthore.

Andinthe glares at Keldris.

Jarrand says: Aye, he was a different man for looking into it.

Roori says: well on a side note were we not planning on going to Silvermoon or something along those limes to find someone

Andinthe says: Not to mention your friend Solivar...
Andinthe says: And that... wretch...

Keldris says: Not that he wasn't, y'know, *completely stabbable* before but I im -- *what.*

Jarrand says: I do believe we were, youngling.

Keldris says: *What?*
Keldris 's eyes flicker, pale luminous green darkening to near-black.

Andinthe says: Regardless of what these mirrors do...
Andinthe says: We need to be searching for a way to undo what they have done...

Jarrand says: There was a whisper of a way, but I do not think it a promised path.

Skyspear whistles between his teeth. "So that is what happened..."

Andinthe mumbles to herself..

Keldris takes a deep breath, closes his eyes for a moment, and exhales in a slow, irritated hiss.
Keldris says: All right....Let's try this again.
Keldris says: Mirror's bad. Screws people up. Do we now how or why?

Andinthe glances over to Keldris.

Jarrand says: It is an old magic.
Jarrand says: Best buried beneath the earth, but it has found itself in our midst nonetheless.

Andinthe says: How many of these "mirrors" do we have now?

Jarrand says: I count two completed ones, with some number of fragments.

Skyspear says: So there's a spare to be used for experiments.

Andinthe glares towards Skyspear.
Andinthe says: Care to be the test subject?

Jarrand says: I do not think experiments are best used with these artifacts.

Skyspear gives Andinthe a very level look.
Skyspear says: Then how are we to find out how to reverse what they do?

Keldris says: ...You said something about a path, Jarrand?

Andinthe glances over to Jarrand, noting carefully what Keldris mentioned.

Jarrand says: And who would we volunteer for such an experiment?

Keldris says: I think we might be putting the cart in front of the kodo a bit here...

Jarrand says: Aye. We have yet to find the person whom we wish to heal.

Keldris says: And that's Baranthore. Right?

Jarrand says: That Paladin needs healing, there is no doubt. But he is not the only one.

Keldris says: ...Who else?

Andinthe says: Solivar...

Jarrand says: Solivar. Ears is as damaged as one can find, and a few others as well.

Keldris nods tightly.

Skyspear says: ...and they both seem to have wandered off.

Jarrand says: That they have.

Folami thinks this group has a hard time keeping track of people...

Jarrand says: Perhaps the mirror, perhaps something else.

Skyspear says: I would not be willing to bet on the "something else".

Keldris says: So the upshot is that we don't know how the mirror works, exactly, except that it's an old dark magic....and we just sent Mierin and Catlali off to her people to see what we can find out....
Keldris says: And at least three people, two of whom are missing, who've been effected by it.

Andinthe says: Hmm...
Andinthe says: Well..
Andinthe says: We know Solivar is within Silvermoon...
Andinthe says: Baranthore was known to have went North... who is the third?

Keldris says: Do you have somebody sitting on him?
Keldris says: Ears? Third party?

Jarrand says: Ears...the Warlock.

Andinthe chuckles at the name.

Keldris says: Do you have someone watching Solivar? Because, seeing as how he's the one who *hasn't* vanished into thin air, it might be a good idea to prevent that as much as possible....

Skyspear growls. "That was supposed to have been me, except that some people did not see fit to inform me of where he was."

Andinthe says: Ayerian supposedly followed Solivar there... I am not sure on whether or not he is still there...

Roori says: Ill go find him! whats he look like.

Keldris says: Little one, Silvermoon's on the other side of the world from here...Not that I doubt you could do it.
Keldris inclines a brow at Skyspear.
Keldris says: Sent, huh?

Skyspear says: Highlord Mograine is aware of Sir Solivar's... problems. With no other reliable death knights nearby since the death of Sir Meton, I've been instructed to watch over him.

Jarrand says: But, perhaps one could accompany her? She may be young for battle, but not to see the world.

The image of Shalo'ro appears before you.
Shalo'ro: I, will accompany the young one.

Jarrand nods at the faint image of the druid.
Jarrand says: It seems you have the guidance you need, youngling.

Roori says: then ill be off see you all later be safe eat your jerky.

Keldris hesitates slightly, then nods.

Shalo'ro nods slowly towards the young orc.

Roori says: GIRONIMOOOOO!

Shalo'ro says: Then you as well shall come.
Shalo'ro nods to the death knight.

Skyspear says: Very well.

Jarrand says: Brother Shalo'ro, I suggest you find yourself in the physical soon, if you wish to come close to catching the youngling. She is of a great spirit, but like the fire quick to follow its own path.

Shalo'ro says: I shall be here soon.
Shalo'ro bows and then fades away.

Skyspear looks at Keldris. "And what of yourself?"

Keldris says: Well. ::dryly:: That's good to know. Me?

Skyspear says: I was under the impression you were also interested in his whereabouts... will you be coming to Silvermoon as well?

Keldris says: ...Yes, I am. On both scores.

Skyspear says: Excellent. Now only to wait for the druid, then.

Jarrand says: We have some tasks to solve then.

[The group finds a jobbing mage and, after a negotiation that involves the words “highway robbery” and “my Captain is going to strangle me to death when she sees the expense report for this,” a portal to Silvermoon is duly purchased. They arrive in the destination room at Sunfury Tower in Silvermoon, and nearby find the druid Sholo’ro, keeping company with a fellow druid in one of the city’s many small gardens. To everyone’s surprise, the druidess Dreamseeker is with him.]

Jarrand bows before Shaloro.

Shaloro bows down graciously.
Shaloro says: [Taurahe] Awak tatanka

Jarrand says: Good to see you again, brother.

Shaloro says: You as well, brother.

Jarrand says: We come looking for one of our own.

Shaloro sniffs the air, his eyes flaring up as his head sways.
Shaloro says: Darker magics come with your arrival friends.
Shaloro says: Ahh? The crazed one?

Jarrand says: These times are full of such magic.

Skyspear mutters under his breath. "I dearly hope not."

Shaloro nods towards Skyspear.
Shaloro says: I do not recall having seen this one before. I am Elder Shalo'ro.

Jarrand says: Our friend has found their way to this city, of his own accord, and we have not heard from him in some time.
Jarrand says: Long enough that those close to him have found their way to us in searching for him as well.
Jarrand gestures to Keldris

Shaloro slowly scratches his chin, his eyes closing briefly.
Shaloro opens his eyes, his gaze falling to the blood elf.

Keldris inclines his head slightly.

Shaloro says: You seek the death knight aye?

Jarrand says: That is correct.

Shaloro says: [Taurahe] Aki

Keldris says: That I do.

Jarrand says: The one that still lives, after their fashion.

Shaloro says: I have seen this one around the city.

Keldris says: Recently?

Shaloro nods slowly, his long braids swaying wildly.

Shaloro says: The Walk of Elders as they call it here..
Shaloro says: I have my camp set up at the end of this walk.

Keldris says: All right then...Shall we?

Shaloro eyes the paladin.

Jarrand nods at you.

Shaloro says: After you, young one.

Roori says: Got it

Shaloro nods slowly.

Jarrand says: Even the dead who still walk find themselves to be right, no occasion.

Skyspear snorts. "I assure you, contrary to rumor, I will not crumble to ash and dust if I set foot on consecrated ground. At least not if I wear good boots."

Dreamseeker giggles at Skyspear.

Jarrand says: So few lands are truly consecrated.

[The group comes to the house that once belonged to Steadfast’s brother, Meton, where Solivar has been dwelling while settling his affairs.]

Keldris pauses, for a long moment, one hand raised to knock on the door.
Keldris 's voice, when he speaks, is completely neutral.
Keldris says: Skyspear...could you come here for a moment?

Skyspear moves to stand beside Keldris. "Yes?"

Keldris says: ...Do you feel that, too?

Skyspear hisses, and impulsively moves forward, putting both hands on the wood, trying to sense who and what is doing this.

Keldris says: I'll call that a yes.

Skyspear says: It's frozen... but such power...

Roori says: CHARGE!

Keldris says: WAIT.

Roori says: OW

Skyspear grabs for Roori's shoulder, trying to keep her back.

Roori says: its locked.

Skyspear says: Don't touch it!

Jarrand says: I take it this is no normal door?

Keldris says: No. There's something...not right here.

Skyspear says: I neither know nor care about the door, but something is happening inside that must be *stopped*.

Jarrand says: Beyond the simple arcane?

Roori Holds her arm and shoulder.

Skyspear traces over the door, trying to find a way to unseal it. "Yes. This was done by a death knight."

Keldris says: Yes. Forcing it would be bad?

Roori says: um guys i dont like that door.

Skyspear says: It's worth trying.

Keldris extends a hand and bows his head, flickers of golden-white power limning his fingers, murmuring under his breath in a language not orcish.

Skyspear backs up, nodding to himself. No need to smash things just yet, it seems.

Augar backs away nervously.

Dreamseeker prepares to heal any hurts inflicted by the strange door.

The door visibly shivers, a lacy latticework of runes glowing palely blue shimmering into view, and fading -- a rush of death-cold air flowing forth as they do so.

Skyspear is ready to be the first through, though not entirely eager to confront what he thinks will be in there.

Jarrand says: I do not believe we are wanted inside.
Jarrand says: Which, given the circumstances is all the more reason to find our ways within.

Skyspear says: I do not believe we can afford to care.

Keldris gives the door a firm shove, sliding it open.
Keldris says: You want point? Because if not...?
Keldris draws his sword.

Roori says: Ill stay back here.

Skyspear moves forward.

Roori still clutches her arm.

Shaloro steps forward slowly, his staff in hand.

Skyspear says: Be careful.

Keldris says: You do that, kid. Can someone see to her?

Dreamseeker says: Is your arm alright, Roori?

Roori says: Im afraid to look it feels like ice.

[The lady druid invokes the healing powers of the earth and sky.]

Dreamseeker says: Does that help at all?

Skyspear says: Let's go inside.

The room beyond is pitch-dark -- no candles are lit and no lamps, the air lung-stabbingly cold.

Jarrand inhales deeply, coughing slightly from the musty air.

Skyspear goes ahead, but warily, listening for movement he can't see in the gloom.

Roori says: feels better yea but it looks like it was a really bad case of frostbite.

Augar eyes the floating tree warily.

Roori peels the skin off and stashes it in the boxes behind her.

In the dark it is difficult to get a precise sense of dimension, but the house seems empty, almost echoingly so -- and, as Skyshatter's shins discover, what furniture there is has not precisely been placed in a sensible arrangement.

Dreamseeker says: I will stay and tend to Roori. I trust Jarrand to yell if you need any backup healing.

Roori says: im fine ill go too.

Shaloro , still at the doorway, holds a hand out, stopping Roori.

Jarrand says: I can see nothing within.
Jarrand says: Even with sight born on the winds.

Skyspear swears under his breath. "I don't sense him..."

Dreamseeker says: Can the Palladin shed some light on the situation?

Augar watches the street nervously, in case anyone thinks the group is breaking in.

Keldris lifts his free hand and murmurs softly, a pale golden radiance rising around him, casting sharp shadows against the walls, darker than they have any right to be.

Skyspear bares his teeth, and the echo in his voice is more pronounced now. "There was slaughter here. Recently."

Jarrand says: Slaughter, but whose?

Dreamseeker grimaces with concern.

The shadows flicker , seeming to move of their own accord as the group makes its way deeper into the house.

Skyspear says: I... don't know. But someone channeled a great amount of necrotic energy.

Jarrand says: To what end?

A pale blue glow suffuses the far side of the house, spilling in through the shuttered windows that overlook the garden.

Augar intercepts the patrolling guard and chokes him until he passes out.

Augar is relieved that the emissaries pass without seeming to notice anything amiss.

Jarrand says: I can hear nothing but the tumultuous cries of the Spirits.

Skyspear moves to open the shutters.

A door, standing slightly ajar, opens onto the rear verandah.

Skyspear looks out, weapon at the ready.

Jarrand looks into the dimly lit room.

Skyspear swears under his breath and shoves the door open, striding forward for a closer look - and to see if the circle is still empowered, before anyone else rushes in.
Skyspear says: Necromancer.

Jarrand says: A necromancer, here?

Skyspear says: Yes.
Skyspear gestures to the circle.

Jarrand says: Something is deathly wrong here, the natural order has been rent asunder and the spirits cry out.

Skyspear says: I have no great skill in the Darkest Art myself, but I can try to figure out what was done here... though I can already tell you, it will not be pleasant.

The circle crackles with leashed necromantic power, throwing off a sickly lich-blue glow that clearly illuminates the remains of something...very young...lying in the center, carefully vivisected.

Jarrand glares angrily.
Jarrand says: No doubt a necromancer indeed, Skyspear.

The corpse has been surgically laid open from the base of the throat to just above the pelvis, flaps of skin and muscle held back with carved bone pins, its entrails spread across the circle in a scrying pattern.

Jarrand spits on the ground.

Skyspear kneels beside the circle, reaching toward the creature, but not touching. "So... what were you trying to find out, with such a little thing..."

Shaloro steps into the room and takes a slow glance at the circle.

Dreamseeker clenches her jaw and trys not to cry tears of rage.

Keldris is as white as salt, eyes wide and sick.

Jarrand mutters a brief prayer to the spirits

Shaloro sighs deeply at the sight, his staves living counterparts have hidden themselves within the vines.

Skyspear says: Seeking someone... seeking who? And -

Jarrand says: The Death Knight would never do such a thing. But, what has found its way on his path causes me great worry.

Skyspear looks around, seeing the others. "I will have to examine the... victim, to know more. You may not wish to watch."
Skyspear says: But the ritual was meant to find a person, someone who is far away.

Augar turns his back to the grisly scene, fighting the rising bile in his throat.

Dreamseeker says: I feel that we should remove the victim after your inspection. They deserve a proper burial, at least.

Jarrand says: A proper burial is the least thing we owe the victim.

Shaloro glances towards the stairwell, his eyes widening.
Shaloro says: Windspeaker...
Shaloro nods at Jarrand, then to the stairwell.

A low whine echoes down the stairs.

Roori falls asleep outside.

Jarrand shifts from foot to foot, uncomfortably

Dreamseeker grabs the Moonkin Hatchling and returns to Augar's side.
Dreamseeker whispers to Augar, "How long will that gaurd be out?"

Augar says: Long enough, lassie. If he wakes up, I'll take him down again.

Dreamseeker says: Works for me, Augar. He'll have a nasty headache to report to his superiors, though. I'll do what I can to keep it from bothering him enough to mention it.

Augar says: We've found enough trouble here for one night. We don't need more.
Augar says: Thank you, bonnie lass. I don't like hurtin people, but it must be done.

Skyspear turns his head, eyes widening. "There's something -"

Shaloro slowly approaches the stairs, his eyes now glowing a bright yellow and his staff close in hand.
Shaloro lands a hoof onto the first of the stairs.

Golden eyes catch the light of the druid's staff -- an enormous black dire wolf at the top of the stairs -- and from somewhere beyond him, a flash of light, a clash of fundamentally opposed energies, and a howl of unspeakable agony.

The blast sends Shalo'ro backwards, his heavy body hitting the floor and his staff sliding across the room. The ear piercing howl stunning the elder tauren.

The shockwave ripples through the entire building, extinguishing even the scrying circle.

Jarrand moves rapidly to the side of the fallen druid

Skyspear leaps to his feet, abandoning the sad remains for more urgent business.

Shaloro groans loudly, his hands clutching desperately for his staff.

Dreamseeker says: Indeed. There's a lot of commotion coming from inside. I hope they are alright in there.

Augar says: Aye. Me too.
Augar says: I wish there was something I could do ta help.
Augar says: Such a sad scene, it tis.

Dreamseeker says: You already are, good hunter. Your prowess was desperately needed to prevent too much outside involvement.

Augar says: Thank you, milady. I protect my friends iffin I can.

Keldris takes the steps in pairs, muttering under his breath as he goes.

Skyspear is on his heels, weapon at the ready, snarling.

Through clenched teeth, Jarrand states "our arrival was expected."

The dire wolf whines and shrinks back from them both, catching the hem of the death knight's cloak in his teeth.

Skyspear swears and raises his polearm to strike.

Shaloro raises his hand quickly, a series of dirty roots errupting from the ground, encasing the wolf.

The dire wolf tugs, almost gently, and whines again.

Jarrand says: The wolf, I've seen before.

Skyspear lowers the weapon, looking almost sheepish for a moment as he realizes he isn't being attacked.
Skyspear says: ...anything to do with that person you left to watch Sir Solivar?

The wolf's ears cant back at a woeful angle but it does not struggle against the roots.

From down the hall there comes a low sound, a wordless, metallic moan of pain.

Jarrand says: I think not. I think more to the person Solivar went to watch.

Skyspear turns his head to follow the sound. "Someone is still alive..."

Shaloro groans loudly once more, his hands flying up into the air once more and a gust of wind blows through the building. Light errupts from the corners only for a second, and an eery sillouette can be seen.

Jarrand says: Perhaps.

Shaloro falls back with a thud, his eyelids falling shut.

Jarrand holds his hand over the prone form of Shaloro

Skyspear tugs his cloak free of the wolf's teeth, and follows the sound.

A tall, pale figure staggers out of the darkness, ice-blue eyes burning in his face, leaving a rusty trail on the white stone wall where he leans his weight against it.

Jarrand watches the person warily.

Solivar blinks slowly, painfully, arms gloved in dried blood to the elbow, and falls to his knees, from there to his face, senseless.

Jarrand says: Brother, you still live.

Skyspear blinks, sighs, and puts his weapon to one side as he crouches beside the wounded death knight. "So we've found him. Good. I hope."

Solivar is utterly still, as only one of the dead can be, eyes closed, face still. His clothing is soaked in blood -- old, dried blood, as dried as that caked to his hands and across his face.

Shaloro groans slightly, his nubby fingers twitching ever so slightly.

Skyspear compares the stains to the ones outside. Blood is something he does know... and it's urgent to find out if the ritual was performed by Solivar, or some other.

Augar is relieved to see any signs of life from Shaloro

Dreamseeker says: Elder, please stay with us. Feel the Earth Mother's blessings flow through you.
Dreamseeker kneels before Shaloro.

Shaloro slowly begins to flex his hand, his eyes fluttering slightly.

Jarrand looks to the Death Knight, looking for any signs of consciousness

Skyspear starts to say something, glances at Keldris, and swallows it.

A voiceless whisper says: ...You....

Skyspear says: We had better secure him... before trying to wake him. Just in case.

Shalo'ro's staff slides across the floor towards the crippled Tauren, almost as if pushed by an unseen force.

Keldris says: What? What is it? How badly is he hurt?

Dreamseeker grasps the Shaloro's hand and whispers, "Welcome back, Elder. I will bring you to a safer place."

Augar says: Aye. Good idea.

A voiceless whisper says: ...You cannot....

Jarrand says: Who is it that speaks to us without a body?

Skyspear tries to sound calm. "If he moves, he will survive. But he may not be in his right mind."

A voiceless whisper says: ...save them....

Keldris 's eyes widen a fraction.

Shaloro rolls onto his knees and forearm and begins to slowly crawl towards the door, his staff sliding behind him, the healing energies slowly helping him along.

Keldris says: ...You can't....You cannot be....

A voiceless whisper says: ...You cannot....
A voiceless whisper says: ...even save....

Dreamseeker says: You have my help along with the aid of the Earth Mother, Elder. Come away from this evil place!

A voiceless whisper says: ....yourself.

Augar shudders at the sound of the voiceless whisper.

Shaloro slowly stands outside but collapses to one knee.

Dreamseeker says: Hunter, help me get the Elder to a greener place.

Augar says: Aye.
Augar says: Let's get him outta here.

Dreamseeker lends Shaloro a shoulder.

Augar says: Follow me Elder.

Augar kneels before Shaloro.
Augar keeps a close eye on Shaloro.

Shaloro raises his snout up into the air, his nose taking in a large gust of air.

Dreamseeker paitiently watches over Elder Shaloro, and nudges the Moonkin Hatchling to lend its comfort as well.

Augar starts to relax as Shaloro’s breathing seems easier.

Dreamseeker says: When you are feeling better, Elder, we would most appreciate any knews you bring of the goings on inside.

Augar says: Are ya sure ya want ta know, Milady?

Skyspear says: Cannot be what?

Keldris swallows hard and shakes his head.
Keldris says: Restrain him. How?

Skyspear says: ...chains, rope, pile of rocks if necessary, and I hope that binding circle the lich showed me actually works.

Jarrand stares at the still Death Knight

Keldris nods tightly and goes in search, returning with a length of rope a few moments later.

Skyspear takes the time to look Solivar over, to see if he has any injuries that need tending immediately.

Jarrand frowns.

Keldris says: ...Is he still bleeding?

Skyspear says: ...no, the wound seems to have sealed. Is there any water?

Jarrand says: I carry some with me
Jarrand offers a waterskin of Highland Spring Water

Skyspear takes it with a nod, and uses some of it to scrub the worst of the blood off Solivar's hands, before tying him up. There's a brief, chill gust as he traces a finger over the rope, drawing a rune on the knot.

Skyspear says: That should hold...

Solivar says: stirs slightly, but does not open his eyes, settling more deeply into quiescence.

Keldris says: ...What the fel happened here?

Jarrand says: It would seem that the still home of our departed brother is not so still. But, this speaks of more than chance encounter.

Shaloro grasps out and plants a heavy arm onto Augar's shoulder.

Augar says: Easy there Elder. I've got ya.

Shalo'ro says in a raspy voice says: Stay.. back...

Dreamseeker leaps to her feet! "Elder....?"

Augar says: Can I help ya get to yur feet, Lord?

Shaloro slowly stands his hand clutching his staff which he plants into the ground.

Augar moves to Shaloro's side, wanting to steady him.

Dreamseeker anxiously anticipates any need of her healing spells.

Shaloro peers back towards the door, the livery bound to his staff seems to bloom ten fold as his eyes open, glowing an eeiry crisp gold.

Augar addressed Keldris: "Do ya need me to carry him outta there, sir?

Skyspear says: I'd like to know what the wolf is doing here, and why it was trying to lead us to him.
Skyspear says: And... I need to examine the ritual more thoroughly.
Skyspear glances at Jarrand. "And prepare the corpse for burial."

Dreamseeker says: I am worried, hunter. The Elder is acting very strange.

Shaloro slowly drifts towards the door, he seems to be holding himself quite well, and a new aura surrounds him.

Jarrand says: The wolf is of our fallen brother's, I have seen the two together on many occasions prior to his death.

Keldris says: ...Yes, I think we should get him out of here.

Augar says: Aye, Lassie. I'm worried as well.

Jarrand says: The corpse will be guided on to the spirit world.

Augar says: Which one should I take, sir?

Shaloro says: The corpse shall be returned to the ground, as it should be.
Shaloro sounds emboldened, his tone full of conviction more so than usual.

Skyspear says: ...after I'm done with it.

Dreamseeker sighs with much relief. "Elder! I'm so glad you're feeling well enough to speak again!"

Shaloro nods slightly to the druid, his eyes falling onto the body.

Skyspear gives Solivar a last look, and goes back downstairs and out into the garden. He needs to know just who died out there.

Keldris says: Solivar -- I don't think he's going to be walking out under his own power.

Jarrand says: Of course.

Augar says: Where shall I take him Lord?

Shaloro looks to Augar than up the stairs to Keldris
Shaloro says: Would that hold of ebony not be wise for such a tormented figure.

Augar moves into the darkened room and gently lifts Solivar's limp body.

Solivar's body is bonelessly limp and colder than normal, offering neither resistance nor help.

Keldris says: Just outside for now...

Jarrand says: There are places safer than the cold fortress of the Ebon Blade.

Augar says: Yes, Milord.

Dreamseeker stares at the limp Death Knight whom she has never seen before, and murmurs a prayer to the Earth Mother.

Augar carries Solivar's body out and lays it at the foot of the steps.

Keldris says: Thank you.

Augar bows before you.
Augar says: It's the least I can do Lord.

Keldris 's gaze follows the hunter all the way down the stairs.
Keldris turns back to Skyspear.

Skyspear is headed downstairs for some forensic examination.

Dreamseeker whispers to Augar, "Who was that Death Knight? Was he a close friend of yours?"

Augar says: No, Milady. I'm not really sure who he is.

Dreamseeker says: Perhaps we shall find out when all this is over.
